Work in progress

One project, before to after

The same staircase through installation, from the cupboard that was there before to the finished run.

  1. The original under stairs cupboard with a single handled door, beneath a black balustrade staircase and Victorian tiled floor

    Before

The original cupboard: one door, one handle and a deep space that was hard to use.

  2. The under stairs space stripped back to its timber framing, with dust sheets protecting the tiled floor

    Strip out

The old panelling comes off and the space is opened up, with the floor covered and the wiring checked.

  3. White carcasses fixed under the stairs with shelf bays and drawer runners, the electricity meter still accessible

    Carcasses in

Full carcasses are levelled and fixed, with shelf bays and drawer runners ready. The meter keeps its own access.

  4. Doors and a drawer box fitted in protective film, gaps being aligned across the run

    Fronts on

Doors and drawer boxes go on, still in their protective film while the gaps are aligned.

  5. The finished white panelled under stairs storage with push to open fronts beside the Victorian tiled floor

    After

Painted panelled fronts that follow the staircase, push to open, over the original tiled floor.
